Fall Coding: Scratch Master Class (Grades 2-4)
Fall Coding: Web Development Master Class (Grades 5-8)
Fall Coding: 3D Games Master Class (Grades 6-8)
Bit Scouts was designed from the ground up to give 2nd-8th grade students the most comprehensive and innovative introduction to computer programming available anywhere in the world. Throughout our courses, our students will become confident programmers and thinkers, designing their own apps, games, and even robots!
Boolean operators, conditional statements, loops, functions - we turn complex programming logic into child's play with our industry leading curriculum.
Kids learn better through play. But our students won't just be playing games: they'll build them from scratch in real programming languages along with animations and functional apps. They'll even use their learning to power hardware like robots and Raspberry Pi.
In our intro and jr. level courses, our students will master Scratch - the industry leading language for new learners. By the time they get to middle school, they'll graduate to Python - a real programming language used to develop apps, games, and websites.
Bit Scouts uses badges to indicate each student's achievments. Earning badges requires consistent effort on the part of our students throughout the session!
Each student keeps track of their progress using the Scout Report. When an instructor notes their effort or improvement, they are rewarded with a sticker - five stickers in a row earns a badge!
The Modder Badge
Given to those students who apply their knowledge of coding to add unique modifications to their projects.
The Climber Badge
Given to those students who show dedication to improving their understanding and usage of computer science.
The Teacher Badge
Given to those students who voluntarily help their peers and share their knowledge freely.
The Designer Badge
Given to those students who put careful thought into the visual aesthetic of their projects.
The Tinkerer Badge
Given to those students who spend their free time coding, and who bring their creations back to share with the class.
